My first two years of teaching were at Washington Drive Junior High where Mr. Hinson served as an assistant to Mr. W. T. Brown. These two men, and especially Mr. Hinson, were mentors to me in the art of education. His influence upon me in how to treat people and students was the most important part of my early teaching years. I am extremely sorry for your loss. His positive influence on thousands of students and teachers is a legacy that I still aspire to. Having just heard of his passing, I wanted you to know that I have lived my life with his influence since 1970.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Hinson. I was a student at Reid Ross but I knew Mr. Hinson as many students did. He was a wonderful person that will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace. God Bless. From: Debra C. Akins

Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs Hinton and the family at this difficult time. Mr. Hinton was such an inspiration to me. He was a great teacher who I had the pleasure of learning from. May his educational legacy be remembered as that of a caring, wonderful administrator. Ecclesiastes 7:2 states that it is better to go to the house of mourning... May we all remember this fine gentlemen, principal, educator with deep affection and appreciation.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Jimmy Hinson. He was a wonderful man, whom I considered my mentor. He is the reason I attended North Carolina Central University and often before making important decisions in my life, I would communicate with Mr. Hinson. I thank Mrs. Hinson and Donald for sharing him with me and many others. Mr. Hinson was the first member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity that I met, and therefore, he is one of the main reasons I sought to become an Omega. Thank God for men like William Hinson.
