I send my deepest condolences to the Family of my dear Brother Watson. We knew each other in our masonic travels, but my memories will always be of how sharp he was in and out of uniform and I always admired him for being clean and sharpe no matter when you seen him and I prided myself to always look sharpen like my dear brother Watson. H e will be deeply missed by his masonic Bothers as well.

Richard was one of my students whose smile and pleasant disposition captured the hearts of everyone with whom he came in contact. He often attended the Reunion of the Hawks held in Smithfield, N.C., his hometown.and enjoyed the reminiscences of the "good ole high school days", along with his former classmates, schoolmates and teachers. Richard was truly a joy in our lives. As a student he was the epitome of a gentleman with good manners and a positive attitude. When we saw him, we first saw his brilliant, broad smile, then his well-groomed, "dressed to a T" attire, military uniform or modern clothing as he exited from usually a shinny, brand new car.
He gave much, and he served long in the military. He brought much joy and happiness to others who knew him from the time he was a young man who lived in Pine Acres . The HAWKS will cherish his memories. May he soar with the angels who will carry him from earth to glory.
We pray for his family and friends and sincerely share their sorrow. Be blessed and be a blessing as Richard was to so many others.

To the Watson family. I Heard of this at work on Thursday. Chief Watson joined the Army the year that I was born and retired after me. This great American spent almost his entire adult life serving his country. What an amaizing life this Soldier had. Think of the thousands that he influenced over a 40 plus year career. Thousands had the privilege of serving with him or just being his friend. His loss impacts lives worldwide. He is missed. Rest easy my Brother.

Sister Janice Joyner-Watson and Family,
Please accept our condolences for my dearly departed friend Richard Watson. Richard and I have been true friends for 34 years. Please know that my family and I are sincerely here for you and your family. Please do not hesitate to reach out or contact us. We will continue our prayers for God’s comfort and the fond memories during these difficult days. We realize losing a loved one is not easy, but knowing we shared the life of a caring and inspiring person like Richard before he went to rest in eternal salvation, is truly an honor and blessing.
I thank God for your obedience on allowing me an unforgettable and cherishing moment to speak with my friend before his transition from earth. I cannot even begin to understand what you and your family are going through right now but please know we are here for you. When I spoke to Richard before his transition; I believe his soul will rest in peace and firmly believe that God accepted him with opened arms for all the good he has done on this earth and others who lives he touched, and those he inspired to “Be All They Can Be.” I will certainly Miss my true friend’s presence, loveable spirit, and his very humorous personality.

God bless you and your family,

Pastor Wilbert L. Watson (CW5, Retired) and Family

My condolences to the wife, offsprings, siblings, and relatives of our wonderfully beautiful and accomplished cousin. I knew him best as Peter Rabbit. He was a delight to just to be around and just observe. I found him very engaging and true to himself. I appreciate his stepping right in and participating with us in our annual family reunion. There is no doubt that the family that knew him well will have everlasting & fond memories.

It is with sadness that I submit this condolence. Affectionately known as "Peter Rabbit" to me, he was the last son-nephew of my grandmother, Sylvia, who raised him. I am thankful and will hold dear to my heart the memories of my dad (William), Uncle Buddy, and he laughing and looking very much like triplets.

May the family allow the Lord to minister to your heart and perfect the emptiness in your soul.
