A TIME TO BE BORN

EVELYN “EVELINA” LOWERY WAS WONDERFULLY CREATED BY GOD ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1938(LATER DOCUMENTED SEPTEMBER 15) IN SYLVANIA GEORGIA AND WELCOMED BY HER PARENTS THE LATE BEATRICE (HOLMES) AND EDGAR LOWERY, SHE WAS THE 12^TH OF THIRTEEN CHILDREN.  AS A CHILD SHE ATTEND GEORGIA, FORT PEIRCE FL AND JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. SHE CONTINUED HER EDUCATION AT ESSEX COUNTY COLLEGE, JERSEY CITY TEACHERS STATE COLLEGE AND RHODE ISLAND STATE COLLEGE GRADUATING WITH HONORS OBTAINING HER ASSOCIATES DEGREE (1972) AND BA (1979) IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION TEACHING 6^TH GRADE AND SPECIAL EDUCATION RANGING FROM MILD – PROFOUNDLY HANDICAP.   

IN 1976 EVELYN TRIED MARRIAGE. SHE WAS UNITED IN HOLY MATRIMONY TO ZOLLIE CAMPBELL.  HOWEVER, MARRIAGE DIDN’T SEEM TO FIT HER WELL AND THEIR UNION SADDLY ENDED AS QUICKLY AS IT BEGAN LEAVING A LAST NAME “CAMPBELL” AS A MEMORY.

EVELYN CAMPBELL IS THE MOTHER OF TWO HANDSOME SONS, ALEXANDER FLETHER AND PASTOR REVEREND VANN L LOWERY SR., BOTH OF WHOM SHE ADORED. SHE SAID THAT HER SONS WERE A GIFT FROM THE ALMIGHTY GOD AND “NEVER gave HER ANY TROUBLE”…TRULY A MOTHERS LOVE. BUT YET SHE WAS STILL INCOMPLETE!!

A time to serve

At the young tender age of 6 years old Evelyn recalled god dealing with her about her ministry and by the age of 13 she was baptized and holy ghost filled.  The need to obtain a better/clearer understanding of gods word impelled her to attend several biblical institutions from 1962-1972 including moody bible institute under the late bishop William h. davis. In 1962 she preached her trial sermon “there is nothing too hard for god to do”. appointed to elder staff in 1983, ordained an elder in 1986, and appointed general elder by dr. james c. Elliot in 2002. She has been god’s crusader ever since,  becoming the highly adored, respected, cherished, unduplicated…general elder evangelist evelyn future campbell!!!!

5. First youth coordinator for the new jersey diocese (9yrs)
5. Secretary of the council of ministries for nj diocese (9yrs)
5. Served as assistant pastor for church #1 in jersey city, nj
6. First national evangelist of the hogc organization by the late dr. james w. Jenkins in 1982
5. Appointed vice president  of the international missionary outreach society 1994
5. Alternat member of supreme council for hogc since 1982
5. Presiding elder of state of pa, dioces #2 1983-89
5. Gen elder of Raleigh, Lexington, and willington, nc
5. Pastor of Fayetteville, nc 1989-2018
5. Conducted revivals in 32 united states, tent crusade in the island of Jamaica causing 3500+ nationally/internationally converts to come to christ!!

A time to mourn

General elder evelyn campbell is reunited with her parents, edgar & Beatrice lowery, 10 siblings, and beloved son rev. vann l lowery sr. her legacy lives on through : siblings: Josephine davis and joe lewis lowery, son, alexander fletcher(Maggie) daughter-in-law: kathleen lowery, spiritual daughter: dea Darlene brown, spiritual son: john fonville(godson: rufus pridgen, grand children:Laila lowery hargrove(cory), donte porter(deshon), vann lowery jr.(Camille), yannah taylor, jaleca & charlotte lowery, Elliot mcknight, 21 great-grand children, 4 great-great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, church family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 11:00AM at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters. Viewing will be held on Friday, October 15th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the House of God Church on 1013 Southern Ave. Burial will be held on October 18th at Bayview Cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey.
